Kafka - The Metamorphosis
Gregor Samsa is unhappy with his life. His job makes him miserable, traveling by train stresses him out. His family situation is complicated, and his boss treats him with disdain. His transformation can also be seen as a deliberate moment of self-recognition. We are all repeatedly pulled into the outside world by relentless acceleration. Crushed by the stress of certain days, exposed to quick decisions or forced to work through unpleasant tasks. We rarely pause to look around us in the flow of time and question our own rhythm. In a society where identities are blurred and personalities fade into the collective mass, the question remains: Is this still me? Would a transformation do me good? Have I already transformed? 35mm analogue film – chemically altered.
