Broken - Diploma
The idea was to make the broken usable again, while preserving the memory and original value of the object. The newly created ceramics are based on the shape of the destroyed twin, but they intentionally appear simpler and more restrained, like a shadow of the past. Cracks or missing parts are sometimes recreated with white clay. Each piece carries a QR code that leads to a website, where the story of the respective object is told – in text form, as an audio file, and with photos of the original vessel and its memories. What has happened cannot be undone, but even something broken can be valuable as long as it holds meaning for someone. The ceramics project is only part of my diploma. You can discover more here:
